Zimbra 9 to Zimbra 10.1 - unable to install required packages

Post by iven »

We are trying to upgrade from Zimbra 9 to 10.1 (single node) but we encountered an error with the packages. We rerun the installed and the ldap failed due to ldap_url and ldap_master_url cannot be the same on an ldap replica. We fixed this with zmfixperms and copying the the backup of /opt/zimbra/conf/localconfig.xml since it was pretty much empty. Now our zmmailboxdctl is not running and we are seeing the logs that zmmailboxd_manager.pid is not found so we tried removing the pid file and starting the zmmailboxdctl but it is still not running and still showing the same error in the logs.

Has anyone encountered this issue?

When you upgrade or install, the installer generates an install.log file in the /tmp/ directory. Could you please check it to identify the issue?

Hello,

I saw a similar error on Rocky 9.x when trying to install 10.1, it was caused by an installation issue with the chkconfig package.
Fixed it by following this RedHat KB: https://access.redhat.com/solutions/6969215
