I've been trying to use the Modern UI more often, and I and my customers are heavy users of the Email Templates zimlets.
Recently, I discovered that if you have a Template with an attachment, while the Classic UI will attach the attachment to the email being composed from a template, the Modern UI does not.
Zimbra have confirmed this as a bug: ZBUG-5298.
Hopefully, Zimbra have a list of ZBUGs and ZRFEs needing to be completed before the Classic UI is deprecated -- and that this bug is on that list.
